Julian truly personified our FAM motto and slogan, and he always showed young men and women that "Hard Work Pays Off."

Through us, his #LEGACY lives on! We will continue to honor him and the passion that he had for life.

I'm talking about FASHION MONTH. Well it's over now and we have a few of our standout favorites from the Spring 2012 collections.

New York

Jason Wu:

The collection was apparently inspired by a graffiti artist name KAWS, I don't see it but Jason Wu and KAWS worked together to create the floral print used throughout the show ( Look 9 below). I did see the Wu woman become a little edgier. The leather looks, although lady like, certainly toughened up her chiffon and ruffles. There was even a small evolution with the hair instead of a clean simple bouffant there was a little porcupine detail. The collection was really Wu's usual lady like looks in Acid, and it was perfection.

Burberry:

I have yet to read a review on this collection....I have no clue where Christopher Bailey..But I loved what he did for Burberry's Spring 2012 collection. The thing with Burberry is the styling is always so season less...I honestly feel that some of these pieces can be worn well into the winter. The collection seemed to have obvious African inspiration with the prints and wood bead embellishment. It was another take on what many designers before Bailey have explored, an african safari. Burberry's safari is different from the interpretations before because it's not awash in the colors of sand and olive. The standout must have pieces will most likely be the parka's especially the shrunken ones, the shrunken jacket has not been a popular look but I think that in these looser proportions it might inspire other designer to follow suit and continue to do their own interpretations of tiny jackets. Burberry has a past for igniting trends.

but the details and accessories are what makes this entire collection the raffia hats,the wood embellishments,The belts, the bags. The layers and texture these things added to the styling of the simpler things throughout the collection.

I'm in desperate need of a raffia cap.

Milan

Moschino:

Moschino is a collection I love because it's not afraid to have fun with fashion. Each season Rossella Jardini takes a simple enough idea and turns it on it's head. This season Moschino went to spain and did a ULTRA SHINY take on matador dressing. I literally need all of the coats pictured below. The rest of the collection were simple,perfect summer dresses...which are well needed but Moschino is a house known for their tongue in cheek styling and designs and that's what they do best.

How cute is Ms.Wixson in that white flamenco gown?

Paris

Paris should be a three way tie between Paco Rabanne ,Balmain ,and Manish Arora.
I would have to give top billing to Paco Rabanne and so prepare to hear me ohhh and ahh over pretty, shiny things.

Paco Rabanne:

The Collection is recently relaunched ( in America anyway, they haven't really been present until last summer when they released a mens and women's fragrance at Sephora). The current creative director is Manish Arora, Manish is like the king of all things shiny.

The fact that Paco Rabanne was so shiny may be the main reason i love this collection so much, but one thing you can't ignore are the hats. and the structured draping everything had. I don't know much about the Paco Rabanne house other than Patrick Robinson used to be their creative director. So what Mr.Arora is doing must be wildly different from what the label used to be and so far I am in LOVE.

I will more than likely post about Manish Aroa's namesake collection and Balmain later in the week, until then stay fabulous.
